The SCELC CSU Shared Print Program is a joint effort between SCELC and the California State Universities allowing SCELC affiliate institutions to join in the national shared print effort and gain access to OCLC's GreenGlass software at a discounted rate.
The CSU Council of Library Deans (COLD) provides regular guidance for CSU participation in the SCELC Shared Print Program, with a COLD member serving as a liaison and ex officio participant in the Shared Print Committee.

In December 2018, the CSU Council of Library Deans (COLD) approved the shared print resolution presented by COLD SPIRIT (Shared Print Investigative Reconnaissance and Implementation Team) in early 2018 to investigate and make recommendations regarding shared print. That resolution recommended CSU participation, on a campus by campus voluntary basis, in the Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC). The resolution allows CSU Libraries to participate on an opt-in basis in a cooperative intersystem initiative for responsible print retention and reduction.
Six CSUs formed the initial CSU Cohort, contributing nearly 600,000 retention commitments:
