Amplifying Library Impact

SCELCapalooza

SCELCapalooza is an annual networking and learning event bringing librarians and vendors together.

SCELCapalooza Library Staff Attendance Award

We seek to broaden access to the professional development opportunities of SCELCapalooza attendance by offering stipends to subsidize SCELC Member institution library staff to attend the conference.

Criteria for Awards

This award will prioritize support library staff who do not currently hold an ALA-accredited Master’s degree, but all library staff at your institutions are eligible to apply. SCELC Staff will seek director confirmation and approval for all applications. In an effort to reduce the up-front, out of pocket cost for the attendee:

  • SCELC will book up to two nights of lodging
  • SCELC will prepay two days' per diem of $200/day to help defray any other potential attendance costs-- travel costs, vehicle maintenance, arranging for child care, or anything that might otherwise have kept you from coming!
  • SCELC per diem will be *prepaid* (not reimbursed afterwards) to the awardee by Tuesday, February 18th-- provided that the awardee completes the necessary forms in advance
  • SCELC Staff will notify awardees by Tuesday, February 4th in order to coordinate the timely disbursement of awarded funds

Application Form and Timeline

Applications must be received by Tuesday, January 21st @ 6PM Pacific Time. SCELC Staff will notify awardees four weeks before the conference (Tuesday, February 4th) in order to coordinate timely disbursement of awarded funds.

If you have any questions about the application process or your submitted application, please contact SCELC.

Awards funds are directly prepaid to the award recipient by the SCELC central office. If you are chosen to receive a SCELCapalooza Library Staff Attendance Award and have questions about the disbursement process, please contact officemanager@scelc.org.
