Last year’s inaugural SCELC Electronic Resources Hackfest brought together librarians from across California and beyond to discuss common issues affecting electronic resources. Not only did we brainstorm possible approaches, but we also shared knowledge and combined efforts to build prototype solutions.

Research Day is designed to improve research skills, with presentations on quantitative & qualitative methods, choosing an appropriate methodology, analyzing data & results, and writing research grant proposals. Librarians also attend hands-on workshops, report on their own research through oral presentations or poster sessions, and identify potential research partners or a network of support.

SCELC's 30th Anniversary Lunch

We will be hosting a brief celebration lunch and cake-cutting to mark SCELC's 30th anniversary of working with libraries.  SCELC was founded in 1986 by USC!
 
Library Directors and SCELC Advisory Committee members from SCELC Member libraries are invited to attend, after which they can also pay a visit to the Natural History Museum, and/or tour their library.
 
If you wish to also sit in on the board meeting taking place before lunch, we will set aside a few chairs for "observers" in the back of the meeting room.

Every year SCELC organizes a Vendor Day that draws 200+ librarians representing more than 70 libraries from across the state of California. In addition, more than 50 vendors attend the event and together give over 130 presentations over the course of the day.
