Member Library Benefits

SCELC Member institutions are entitled to the following services and benefits:

  • Camino Resource Sharing is disabled as of November 2020 for the forseable future. SCELC maintains information for legacy Camino institutions-- as well as any future announcements for the service as a whole-- on the linked program page.
  • Callimachus is the SCELC Digital Library. SCELC has purchased on behalf of its Members an unlimited license for OCLC's CONTENTdm. This growing collection from numerous SCELC institutions reflects the diversity of SCELC special collection holdings.
  • Collaborative Collections Program creates opportunities for participating institutions to collectively license and share access to collections of ebooks or other electronic resources.
  • SCELC Awards provide various types of funds for library staff at Member institutions, from online and in-person conference / professional development attendance, to funding research or other projects that will benefit our consortial community.
  • SCELC Scholarships provide financial aid to support the enrollment of Member institutions' paraprofessional staff in accredited library and information science programs.
  • Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program provides your faculty or other authorized researchers with borrowing privileges at other SCELC Member institutions participating in a reciprocal agreement.
  • Reciprocal ILL facilitates free ILL of books and journal articles among participating SCELC institutiuons. Also open to Affiliate institutions that participate in the Shared Print Program.
  • Shared Print Program focuses on local and peer-to-peer collection analysis to establish shared monograph print retention. Member institutions looking to reclaim space and enhance resource sharing should join the Shared Print Program.
