Charleston Conference 2017 SCELC Social Hour
2017-11-08: **CHANGE OF VENUE** to Closed for Business, another lounge one block CLOSER to the Francis Marion than the previous location.
All librarians and friends of SCELC attending the Charleston Conference are invited to join us for our annual cocktail reception. This casual event is a great chance to socialize with and meet SCELC colleagues. Come hang out!

Internet Librarian 2017 Reception
SCELC hosts a wine and cheese reception every year during the Internet Librarian conference in Monterey, California for SCELC librarians and friends. Located on the campus of the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, this casual event is a great chance to socialize with and meet SCELC colleagues.
SCELC eResource Hackfest 2017

Last year’s inaugural SCELC Electronic Resources Hackfest brought together librarians from across California and beyond to discuss common issues affecting electronic resources. Not only did we brainstorm possible approaches, but we also shared knowledge and combined efforts to build prototype solutions.
Projects from Hackfest 2016 include:
Research Day at SCELCapalooza
Research Day is designed to improve research skills, with presentations on quantitative & qualitative methods, choosing an appropriate methodology, analyzing data & results, and writing research grant proposals. Librarians also attend hands-on workshops, report on their own research through oral presentations or poster sessions, and identify potential research partners or a network of support.
