Policies

1. Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC) Library members may elect to participate in a reciprocal agreement for interlibrary loan of books and providing of copies of journal articles.
2. SCELC libraries that participate in this agreement provide gratis loans and copies to other SCELC library participants.
3. Participating Libraries adhere to the provisions of the “Interlibrary Loan Code for the United States”.
4. Participating libraries will attempt to obtain items from the smaller participants before making requests to larger library participants.

Procedures

1. Participating libraries will use standard interlibrary loan procedures and will indicate “SCELC ILL” on all requests.
