SCELC Web Privacy Policy

The Statewide California Electronic Library Consortium (SCELC) has established this privacy policy in order to demonstrate SCELC's commitment to respecting the privacy of its web site visitors. The following discloses SCELC's information collection practices for the SCELC website.

Collection of Personal Information
Personal identification information that you provide by e-mails or web forms will be used only for such purposes as are described at the point of collection (for example on a web form), such as to send information to you, register you for a SCELC event, update your membership record, or to respond to your questions or comments. If you provide contact information, SCELC may contact you to clarify your comment or question, or to learn about your level of satisfaction with our services.  SCELC will collect no personal information about you when you visit our website unless you choose to provide that information to us. 

Collection of Generic Information
Generic information from server logs and/or statistical tracking software is collected and analyzed for the limited purpose of improving the SCELC web site. Generic information includes data such as the number and frequency of visitors to the SCELC site and traffic patterns within the SCELC web site. Generic information does not reveal the identity of the visitor.
