Product Description:

The Cross-National Time-Series (CNTS) Data Archive contains 200 years of data, from 1815 for every country. Its 196 variables are of interest to social scientists, economists, historians, government, business and media. Of special interest, however are the unique Domestic Conflict Event variables: Anti-Government Demonstrations, Assassinations, General Strikes, Guerrilla Warfare, Major Government Crises, Revolutions, Riots and Purges.

The Domestic Conflict Event variables along with Population and Area variables are updated yearly, as are the World Bank codes and any errors found in prior year data. The Legislative and Political variables are updated about every other year. Other categories of variables are updated every few years. The Coverage File on our website shows what data for what years, variables and countries the Archive contains. Definitions of the variables can also be found on our website.

An optional add-on to the Archive are LINKS, which consist of live links to source articles for each Domestic Conflict Event counted in the Archive from 2011 forward.
