SCELC has two major annual events: Vendor Day and Colloquium. They are held over two consecutive days to give SCELC members the opportunity for quality interaction with vendors and other librarians, without the usual distractions that come with larger library conferences such as ALA or ACRL.
Vendor Day is a chance for librarians of SCELC to see demonstrations of products and new offerings and to meet with vendor representatives, either by appointment or in the exhibits room. While Vendor Day attendees include vendors and librarians outside SCELC, Colloquium is a program exclusively for SCELC members. Colloquium offers several presentations by experts on topics selected by the Program & Professional Development Committee.
The evening in between the two events features SCELC’s social event of the year, the Vendors vs. Librarians Bowling Tournament. This is great opportunity for both librarians and vendors to meet and have fun.
