Sessions: Elsevier will hold 2 raffles for some very special prizes. The raffles will be held at XXpm (end of the day), all attending these sessions will have a chance to win one of the nice prizes!
50 minute session - Scopus: World's largest abstract and citation database covering all sciences including Social Science, Psychology and Business/Management titles. Scopus indexes now 15,000 titles from over 4,000 international publishers providing links to full-text entitlements and other library resources. There are a host of functions that come with Scopus to make retrieving information easier for our users:
- Citation Tracker. The Citation Tracker will allow researchers to obtain data on the number of times a specific author's work has been cited or group of articles.
- Author Identifier - Allows for precise searching of author papers, takes the guesswork out for variant name spelling and name sharing.
- Quick bibliography function. Greatly used by students.
- Library Integration - Create customised links to other resources.
- Full-text linking - Create full-text links to entitlements.

50 minute session - Embase.com: EMBASE.com is Elsevier's web-based service for Biomedical & Pharmacological Information. With more than 17 million records, EMBASE.com contains the entire Excerpta Medica database (EMBASE) (10 million records), supplemented with MEDLINE records dating back to before 1966. Unique features such as combined searching of EMBASE and MEDLINE with duplicate citations removed.
50 min session - Usergroup: Open forum for ScienceDirect and or Scopus
30 minute session - Engineering Village (EV): EV is Elsevier's platform for engineering information with unique faceted search results and graphical display functions. EV offers cross-database searching of content such as: Compendex, Inspec, Patents, NTIS, Referex (Collection of Engineering Reference Works) and our new Geobase addition.
30 minute session - Elsevier E-Books on ScienceDirect: Updates to forthcoming online reference works, book series, and handbooks. New flexible purchase options for 2007. Also, introduction of over 4,000 e-books in 2007 with convenient pick-and-choose models.
30 minute session - Overview of the new ScienceDirect Interface: This ScienceDirect session will focus on new layout of the ScienceDirect interface, review features and demonstrate various searches on SD along with integrated web-searching using Scirus.
30 minute session - Elsevier E-Books on ScienceDirect: Updates to forthcoming online reference works, book series, and handbooks. New flexible purchase options for 2007.
Also, introduction of over 4,000 e-books in 2007 with convenient pick-and-choose models.
