SCELC Vendor Day 2005
TDNet
TDNet will be demonstrating its powerful federated search and analysis tool for electronic content called Searcher/Analyzer. Using sophisticated and patented technology to build customized categorization "on the fly" and create clusters of information that enable the user to quickly and easily sort through thousands of returned citations of a search, Searcher/Analyzer provides a unique service in the realm of federated searching. When a user enters a query analysis of the results is performed automatically as the search results are gathered. Searcher/Analyzer returns an abstract of each item retrieved and clusters them into concepts. Clusters can be further refined with a context-sensitive menu of related concepts, and optional categories can be added to allow filtering by source, author, language, and domain suffix. Searcher/Analyzer can be configured to search any commercial or locally developed database that has an HTTP or stable API interface at the metadata, full text, header, abstract, or any piece of the data. Searcher/Analyzer is part of the TDNet suite of services including Journal Manager, Holdings Manager, and Full Text Link Resolving.
