OCLC
OCLC is a nonprofit membership organization serving 43,559 libraries in 86 countries and territories around the world. OCLC's mission is to further access to the world's information and reduce library costs by offering services for libraries and their users. At the SCELC Vendor day we will cover:
- FirstSearch and how your library can get more out of the database. Also OCLC will review major developments in using Worldcat as a virtual catalog for groups of libraries.
- QuestionPoint is a collaborative reference service that the Library of Congress and OCLC to developed together, along with input from participating members of the Global Reference Network (a group of libraries and institutions worldwide that are committed to digital reference).
- OCLC digital Co-op is a virtual community where libraries staffs can share with other colleagues in such areas as preservation and digitization. As a forum for exchange and sharing, the Co-op provides the foundation for all other OCLC digital and preservation services
- CONTENTdm gets your project off the ground, fast. OCLC's CONTENTdm digital collection software suite brings you the latest digital collection management tools. With eight years of experience developing digital collections in close collaboration with librarians, CONTENTdm is the easiest and fastest way to get your digital collection started.
