SCELC is inaugurating a new "Colloquium" to precede our very successful Vendor Day. The schedule for the Colloquium is divided into two distinct parts:
Morning Program: Strategic Planning Workshop
SCELC is undertaking a year-long strategic planning process to help us determine future directions
and initiatives. To initiate this process, SCELC's strategic planning consultant, Edward Grice,
of the Center for NonProfit Management of Southern California, will be leading a strategic planning
workshop from 10am-1pm. Limited to no more than 75 attendees, this workshop is an opportunity for
SCELC librarians to contribute to the conversation, raise concerns and questions about the
consortium, and help SCELC focus on key initiatives for the future.
We would particularly like the following to attend this workshop: current and past Board members, SCELC committee members, Library Directors, and librarians responsible for SCELC -related activities or transactions in their libraries. We want to be as inclusive as possible, but logistically need to limit registration to 75 for this program. So, sign up soon, as it's first come, first serve!
Lunch: Free buffet lunch for all registrants! Confirm your lunch attendance below.
Afternoon Program: Panel Discussion
In the tradition of past SCELC programs, we are presenting three afternoon panels on topics of
current interest to libraries and librarians coping with new issues raised in the electronic
resource environment. The schedule of programs is below, and each addresses a topic that often
surfaces in discussions among SCELC librarians, or when SCELC negotiates a license for a particular
electronic resource.
