Colloquium 2011

The sixth annual SCELC Colloquium will take place at Loyola Marymount University on Wednesday, March 2, 2011.

This year’s Colloquium theme is fostering innovation in our libraries. Sessions will cover new ways of acquiring materials, including patron driven acquisition; an exciting new SCELC service for measuring usage (PaperStats), and how to innovate in the broader sense across all areas of your library operation.

Our keynote speaker is Peter McCracken, co-founder of Serials Solutions and now CEO of Shipindex.org. At this summer's ALA Peter will be the recipient of the 2011 Ulrich's Serials Librarianship Award. Peter's talk is entitled "Why Choose the Buffet if You're Not Hungry?: Thoughts on New Ways of Accessing Electronic Resources."
