Colloquium

Colloquium 2012 is scheduled for Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at LMU.

Vendor Day 2012 will take place on Thursday, March 1, 2011 at LMU.

The SCELC Colloquium was inaugurated in 2006 to provide a dedicated forum to discuss current issues in the field of electronic resource licensing, digital librarianship, the role of social networks in libraries, Web 2.0 issues, and more. Reserved for SCELC members, the Colloquium attempts to present a keynote speaker recognized for their expertise on a particular topic, or a keynote panel highlighting an issue of current importance to SCELC members. In addition. an afternoon program developed with the assistance of the SCELC Program and Professional Development Committee (PPDC) provides several panel discussions on topics of significant interest to SCELC members.

The Colloquium takes place in conjunction with the SCELC Vendor Day, preceding or following that event, thus allowing SCELC members to set aside two consecutive days for quality interaction with vendors and other librarians without the usual distractions of hectic library conferences such as ALA or ACRL. All members are encouraged to attend the Colloquium, which is free of charge and includes breakfast and lunch.
